I Love The Great Dane
The Great Dane has naturally floppy ears. They are triangular in shape. Great Danes were originally bred to hunt boar, and cropping their ears was a way to make them perform better and avoid injuries. Today, cropping their ears is primarily for cosmetic reasons. However, this practice is illegal in many countries such as the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. There are six acceptable coat colors: fawn, brindle, blue, black, harlequin, and mantle. The AKC will disallow any other colors in the show ring. Other colors do occur and they include, white, fawnequin, merle, merlequin, fawn mantle, and others.
