I have heard over and over again that some of the best wine in the world comes from California, but honestly I just do not know if I believe that. I mean it is true that some grapes grow pretty good there, but I do not think that there is any grape that grows the best there. Take the pinot noir grape for instance. It originally came from France and was imported to California, but the California Pinots are far inferior to what is produced in France. The climates are just too different … Oregon makes Pinots far superior to California’s, they can even rival what is produced in Europe. I guess the only way to really test out the California wines is to join a wine club: california wine club
