How can I create my own clipart?

I want to create some clipart for a project Im doing and Im far from being an artist but I would like to learn some techniques and tips to create some in PSP or paint, simple stuff.

In the microsoft Word click Drawing(the one with A and a cube and blue cylinder icon)..below it pops a toolbar for art,insert ClipArt and there are also configure your own ClipArt there.. =)
