For some reason the profile editor won’t let me use their application because it keeps saying I have html/coding on my page that will disable the way myspace shows my layout and that I have to remove it first. Is there a way to get around that and use the gif I want to use. I want to put the pattern on repeat so it covers the whole background area.

It saves as bmp but not gif.
I can paste into a graphics program but not the animation.

im not real sure…before i had vista..i could just ..save as ..and the gifs used to move in my my email .. dance etc

now they dont move at all, so sorry im no help ..in edit and file ya may be able to work it out.. i cant…

I’ve tried photobucket but you can’t edit gifs on there.

P.S. Don’t answer the question if you don’t know what a gif is.
I want to turn a gif I have already made and saved into a black and white gif.

I’d like something free that can either be a downloadable program or on the internet.

Free gimp has the option to change to greyscale. Open the gif using gimp then go direct to save as and make sure you choose a new location so as not to overright your old gif, on saving the option will show to convert to greyscale and also make sure you select to keep animation, click export and that is you done.

Irfanview is good but very basic and doesn’t have the option to change animated gif files.

I have made a .gif image from a video but the problem is its way too heavy to to upload. Are there any free software to fix this? or, Do I have to compress the video first? if so, then how to compress a video?

You can’t stuff an elephant into a mailbox. You should probably reduce the length of the video. Usually the compression of the video itself doesn’t matter because it gets recompressed as a static image when converted to a gif. Gif files for avatars can only hold a couple of seconds of motion at best.

Ive made a animated GIF in photoshop 8 and when i upload it to myspace it shows some kind of magenta static or weird color, why is this ad how can i fix it??? HELP!

Well, firstly, where did you get the picture you have in the Word document? If you know where you originally got it from, just locate it again and send that file.

Alternatively, if all you have is the image in the Word document, copy it, and paste it into any image editing program you may have. If you know you don’t have any downloaded image editing programs such as Fireworks or Photoshop, you can just use Microsoft Paint.

So go into Paint, and paste your image. Crop it to where you want it (by using the corners of the canvas), then go to File >> Save As. In the "Save as type" box, click the arrow that brings up the drop-down menu, and select either JPEG or GIF. Call the file whatever you want, and save it wherever you want.

Or where can I find a website or place to find or make a custom gif? I need something for a joke and I need it to look offical to make the joke more believable. Any help would be great.

its a nice program to create animated GIF files… all you need to do is to compile the gif files and drag and drop them to unfreeze. set the delay, then render the file… done! :p

I try right clicking and saving it like a normal picture. But that just saves the the gif at the frame that i clicked save on.

What you did should be enough.
Rt-Click in the middle of the pic >>click save image as >>
in the window browse to a location and then click save button.
There is not much difference in saving any type of file.

There is a possibility that rt-click and save is disabled by the administrator. Are you working from home or some where else.
Also can you save other type of images.

I’m trying to learn how to make an animated gif from a video clip, I’m using the Gimp plus the Gimp animation package. Any help would be much appreciated, or if you know of any online tutorials please leave them here. Thanks in advance
