How can I transfer Flash 8 programs from my old computer to my new computer?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

I got a new computer yesterday and it doesn’t have Flash 8 or Higher. Can someone please tell me how to transfer Flash 8 programs from my old computer to my new computer? If not can someone please tell me where to find free downloads of Flash 8 or higher?

A free download of Flash 8 is illegal. You can find the serial codes online, if you have to. My friend did. (not telling names). You search for a trial version (like those 30 day trials) online and download it. Then you search for a serial crack for it. Then TADA! You have your programs!

PS>> That person who says here’s flash 10, that’s just a player, not the program.

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Dear friends
I want to download many videos that i view in most of the website. But all seem to be in flash player. I dont know how to save it. Tell me how to save flash videos from websites.

If you don’t use Firefox then you need to start. When you have done that, get the add-on Download Helper. Then start downloading flash videos. That easy.

What flash unit should I be looking for to use with an older manual Minolta SR-7?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Since there are no contacts on the hot shoe it must use an old style flash with a cord or something. I have been looking for months but I haven’t been able to find any info on this type of flash anywhere. I appreciate any help.
Thanks Edwin. I will be on the lookout ;)
if the sr7 has a "pc" or "x" sync port on it, on the body by the lens, then yes you can run a "pc sync" cable/lead to a flash unit to fire it

any old flash unit that you can run a "pc sync" cable from wil do it for you, i got one with a cable recently for $NZ5 on auction awhile ago - try ebay maybe

What is the best flash for a Film SLR camera?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

I have a Praktica Mtl3 and I need a flash.

Could anybody tell me what flash is the best kind, and is not too expensive?
I would buy it off ebay, so maybe a link?

Also, once you attach the flash onto the camera, does that flash automatically come on?

Thanks.

The MTL3 has a hot shoe meaning it will fire the flash automatically if one is attached. Just make sure to set the shutter to the recommended flash sync speed which would most probably be 1/30s. If the flash you get has an auto mode, set it to the film’s ASA. If not, look at the graph at the back of the flash for the correct aperture setting for a certain distance.

It would be best to get a brand new flash. You’ll never know how many times a secondhand flash has been fired so it’s life may be much shorter than what you want to believe. Vivitar flashes are one of the cheapest and most reliable around for generic use. You can easily find one at any photo supply store.

How do i use anexternal flash on my camera while using the alienbee CST trigger?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

the trigger fits onto the hotshoe of my camera…which is where i want my flash…so is there anyway or any adapter or anything that lets me use both. because i know on some triggers, such a the pocketwizard flex tt5, there is another hotshoe on top of the trigger for a flash.

any help would be great, thanks.
because i use a ringflash.

A few things here.

1) The TT5 has the hotshoe on top so that you can either use the flash as a slave or use the flash to control the other slaves that you have on other TT1s or TT5s. You’d need a flash capable of being a master to begin with (for Canon that would be a 580EX) to control ratios and groups. You can also use it as just a flash on top of your camera, I mean why else would you bother putting the dang hotshoe up there anyways?

2) You didn’t say what camera, flash, and what you are triggering. Many mid to high level cameras have PC ports on the side. If your camera has that you could use the PC port for the CST and the hotshoe for your speedlight/speedlite. Also if your strobe has an optical slave you could just skip the CST all together, but I’m assuming that you bought the trigger to fulfill a need that you couldn’t otherwise. Some flashes have a PC port on the side, and some of those can trigger a CST trigger.

3) There is the idea that you can put the flash on a bracket and have another alien bees receiver on it to fire your flash. You would however lose TTL. Some flashes even have an optical trigger built in. Nikons are pretty good for doing that (I really really wish Canon would follow suit).

4) If all else fails there’s another spendy option for you http://www.paramountcords.com/ttl.asp or http://www.paramountcords.com/nikonttl.asp

What is a good but affordable flash for a Pentax K100D SLR camera?

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I’m buying one as a gift for my husband, but don’t even know what brands are reliable. He does a lot of nature photography right now, but says he needs a flash so he can do indoor stuff. My price range is less than $150. His photography skills would probably be best described as experienced amateur. I’m looking for something that’s fairly good quality - the best bang for my buck. Suggestions please?

Take a look at the Vivitar 285HV. Its about $90.00 at B&H ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com ).

NOTE: There is an older Vivitar 285 which you DO NOT want. Make certain you order the 285HV.

This flash is 100% Manual but since your husband is an "advanced amateur" he shouldn’t have any problems figuring it out. A careful reading of the Manual that comes with the flash should have him happily flashing away in no time.

****** EDIT ******

When I used the term "manual" to describe the flash it was in reference to there being no TTL interface between camera and flash.

How do I get media from my flash drive connected to my PC to stream to other devices?

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

I can already stream music and videos from my hard drive to my Xbox 360 but want to be able to stream the content from my flash drive connected to my computer (without connecting the flash drive directly to the Xbox 360). I am sure it can be done. I am using Windows Vista.

Basically if you share the contents & set the proper permission, you can see the contents anywhere directly as long as within the private network

How do I create a Flash site that fills the entire browser without scrolling?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

What I mean is this…
I wanna build a complete Flash website, but I do not want any borders.
I want the flash page to fill the entire browser without having the visitor scroll horizontally.
So, whether the visitors Resolution is 1024 by 768 or 1600 by 1200, the entire browser space would still read Flash.
Help? Anyone?

Has NOTHING to do with resolution, but the browser’s window size being used at ANY resolution. Some browser sniffer scripts work to detect window size of browser and make adjustments according to CSS/HTML file possible linked to under different conditions.
