I am creating vector images from the raster images of disney cartoon characters like mickey, donald etc.
Can it raise copyright issue if i sell this vetor images of disney characters. What statement i need to add about copyright. What copyrights applies to seller as well as buyer.
If you make money with those images, or use those images in conjunction with your business, you must get permission from them. Otherwise, yes they can force you to pay. And, by the way, you don’t get to say how much money those images helped you make and therefore how much you should pay Disney. They get to say how much those images are worth, get money from you for their worth, and can also get you to pay punitive damages - in other words, extra money just to punish you for doing wrong. This applies even if you "bought" an image (say, a line art drawing on a clipart CD); read the copyright information on all software, pattern books, etc. before using images.
I used to have Jasc Paintshop, but can’t find it. I have Photo Shop, but it is not user friendly. I am not a professional I just want something to create and manipulate graphics for hobby use. I use Microsoft Publisher and Paint now, but I need something that does more. I don’t know about vecor and resizing and all that. I just don’t know what to look for. Any ideas?
combining paint and photofiltre is much better than photoshop, is user friendly for windows users, and photofiltre is free
I publish an in-house newsletter for a retirement home
in Word and/or WordPerfect.
Often the text is too small for elders to read.
You can always superimpose a text box (see your Drawing toolbar) over the image, and type in your own text.
I we allowed to use Micorsoft clippart on the internet. I’ve got some nice images from just going in to powerpoint - can I use them on my site?
In theory, no - Everything created by microsoft is copyright. You could contact them and get their permission though,
Having said that - I’ve seen thousands of sites over the years that have blatantly used microsoft clip-art images !
Microsoft aren’t really that bothered about people using their clip-art - so I say go ahead and use it if you want to. The worst that could happen is someone spots it and ask you to remove it !
I am looking for clip art for InDesign projects. I need objects that will not block the use of words and can also go on top of other objects.
Please help me. It’s a school project. Thanks all!
I own InDesign, but to be honest, I have never opened it up, so I have no idea what it does or what it is used for.
But there is a site that has some wonderful brushes, patterns and tutorials that may be useful to you:
http://myphotoshopbrushes.com/
I used to have a great clip art site saved, but since I can’t find it, here are some other useful sites that I stumbled across:
His work is kinda goofy, but free for non-commercial use.
http://www.phillipmartin.info/clipart/homepage.htm
This one is also photoshop brushes, but they have been known to have PNG downloads in the past.
http://www.youthedesigner.com/
This next link is free vectors
http://www.gomediazine.com/category/freebies/vectors/
More free vectors with available PNG’s (this may be what you’re looking for)
http://vector4free.com/
I hope that helps, and I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help. I will be sure to contact you if I can find that site with the clip art again. Best of luck.
If I get the book published will I have to get permission to use the clipart from different websites?
Yes you will need permission, if you are profiting from someones work that is stealing, unless you have bought the rights for the images or the images are free for commercial use. not free to use.
I want to create some clipart for a project Im doing and Im far from being an artist but I would like to learn some techniques and tips to create some in PSP or paint, simple stuff.

Download Inkscape at Inkscape.org
Check out the Open Clipart library
openclipart.org
It’s a drawing program and people contribute to the library all the time.
I need clip art (like the tradtional stuff) on my laptop for work. I have mirco soft but I think it needs updating or something as when I click on clip art it closes my microsoft word down and nothing happens. Does anyone have a link or something so I can download free clip art to use on micro soft word??
I use http://www.freeze.com/ they have both free & paid for content but the clip art seems to be the same whether you are a paying member or not.
Online? Want to use it for a small publication. Are there sites that let me use clipart free?
