can animators work as a game designer if they majored in graphic design in college?

im majoring in graphic design and i want to do animation or video game design( to Animate the games….charactors!)

People only care what your portfolio looks like. If you have avis of great animation they can look at (a reel) then they will want you even if your degree is in economics.

    yeah obvously thats like the basics then u have to learn about computer desighning.
