Should I become a computer animator or cartoonist?

I want to know what the salary of a computer animator or cartoonist is and what kind of education you need.

To answer this question, you need to establish what your motivation would be.
Is it money? If so, I would bet on a career on computer animation, because you can go into cartoons on tv, to advertisements, to computer games, etc… career progression is almost unlimited in terms of which direction you want to go once you have the degree to do so.

On the other hand, a cartoonist (which I’m assuming you mean the traditional hand drawing type cartoonist), is kind of limited. Once a cartoonist, you either have a section of the newspaper dedicated to your cartoon. Work for a comic strip like DC (which is highly competitive if you are good enough) Or you’re stuck on the sidewalk doing caricatures for $10…
