Okay, where to begin.

First off, if you aren't already, grab a pad of paper and start drawing. draw EVERYTHING. Animals, people, trees, buildings, everything. Try it with pens, markers, pencils, charcoal, and anything else that can make a mark. Start simple, trying to capture the feeling and pose of the thing your drawing.

Next, enroll in art classes in High School. Both classical/traditional and digital. Programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash are going to become your best friends. Meanwhile, classical drawing and composition classes will help you cultivate a good artistic base. If your school has a cartooning class, take it.

Next comes college, art college to be specific. Do your research though. Some art school are complete and utter scams, while others have been around forever and are extremely reputable. At the same time, don't let a relatively new school scare you away. Also look for accreditation, as that will allow your college credits to be worth something at other schools too. Nickelodoen is more of a classical animation, and less 3D, so you'd want to look into degrees, focuses, and classes that are similar. Much of it is digital now too, mainly flash based, so keep that in mind.

From there it's just going to school, working like mad, and perfecting your skills. Art is much like music: You never stop practicing.

In terms of finding work, in theory your school will help you with things like your demo reel, resume, and business ethics. They may also help you with job hunting, and connections. You'll also have to do a lot of job hunting on your own.

One good rule: Never call a company. Most utterly detest it, and may actually severely hurt your chances. E-mail is your friend in TV/Movie/Game industry.

Hope this all helps. Feel free to throw me an e-mail if you need some more support or info, or whatever.
References :
Once you acquire the necessary skills/degree to get such a job, you can apply at the MTV Jobhunt website, listed as my source. You must either wait for an opening in the Nickelodeon section, or you could try contacting MTV Networks or Viacom directly.
References :
http://www.mtvncareers.com/
