How do you create sound effects to an animated movie, do you need a special software to do that?

I wanted to know how do you add sound effects to an animated movie. For example, the sound of swords clashing, the sound of horses running, and more. Do i need a certain software to make sound effects? Is there free software that i can download that can create sound effects?

Once you have either imovie or movie maker- use www.findsounds.com to get pre-made sound fx.

why can’t you use windows movie maker or imovie
