How can I paste an animated photograph onto a blank canvas on photoshop CS3?

I want to paste an animated image onto a blank canvas but I can’t figure out how to.

Photoshop should come with imageready… that will open gifs and break them into frames for you. Saving the image to your comp and re opening will work better than pasting

    Open up the animation tab/pane under the window menu and try dragging the animated picture (a .GIF file I’m assuming) into one of the blank canvases/panes. I’m not sure if Photoshop will break it into frames for you or not you may have to end up doing it manually.
