i already used …
i already used pivot. its the easiest software to animate.
Nope. They used …
Nope. They used different core engine. Studio is oriented towards educational and hobbyst whereas Animate and above are more Pro oriented applications.
In both case, the quality of the animation depends of your talents
hmm if you are just …
hmm if you are just starting, try pivot, its easy to use and teaches you the basics of animating.
if you really want to use flash or toonboom, try using flash first, if you want, you can watch my tutorials about flash

I have a question …
I have a question is Toon Boom Studio similair to Toon Boom Animate?
one more thing, …
one more thing, will toonboom one day be able to import 3d models ie obj or collada ,i know its easier to export to 3d programs instead, which i do but would be nice to have the option !
oh thank you so …
oh thank you so much!
depends what type …
depends what type of animation, if you mean movies or short film and traditional animation then i would start with ToonBoom, if you are making flash movies for web, then maybe not ! I do traditional animation, so for me ToonBoom all the way baby !
i have a very …
i have a very important question: Wich is easier, Flash or toon boom. please reply cuz im very itrensted in animating!
yep it’s better if …
yep it’s better if you want to produce poo poo animation ! It would be wrong for me to say people who can’t draw should stay clear of 2D animation and stick to 3D, but if i couldn’t draw i would be using Anime studio pro !
agreed but Animate …
agreed but Animate is just fine for me, i do most effects by exporting image files planes in C4D so i only use tones and highlights mostly.
However i would love to own a copy of PRO if you have one you could spare ? lol….keep up the good work toonboom !
Animate Pro adds a …
Animate Pro adds a level of complexity compare to Animate. But this is the price to pay if you want to achieve advanced special effects or create animation using more advanced technique.
Animate Pro adds also collaborative features to production environment (studios…) willing to work in a more integrated pipeline.
and people how can …
and people how can you compare Anime pro to Animate, that’s sacrilege i tell you ! Any studio from Japan to US could work with Animate with little if any problems, could you say the same about Anime pro ? I think not !
i have both and i …
i have both and i must admit you get your money’s worth with both, i am making a short film with Animate and with a little imagination you can do some amazing things !
doesnt trial mean …
doesnt trial mean you can only use for a certain amount of time
sadly, no.
but …
sadly, no.
but there is a trial
is this free
is this free
I tested out Toon …
I tested out Toon Boom Studio expecting a really good 3d atmosphere, although it seems a bit pedestrian compared to Toon Boom Animate.
Animate has 15 …
Animate has 15 effects layers and the morphing feature and IK tools. IK is just Inverse Kinematics for the uninitiated.
I just bought …
I just bought studio, studio is much mroe simpler than this. Theres no advanceness to it, its basically this program -1000.
I have it! but I’m …
I have it! but I’m still looking for some tutorials.. what’s the difference between Animate and Studio?
Which is Better …
Which is Better Toon Boom Studio or Toon Boom Animate and why?
Oh no doubt about …
Oh no doubt about it, toonboom rules for traditional, hands down, the drawing tools are far superior, yet overkill if not needed.
I admit Anime …
I admit Anime Studio has better IK but I still think Toonboom Animate is better and you could get more mileage with it if you are familiar with flash. I do find some of Animate’s features to be confusing at times. I have finally managed to get the Puppet to move using the IK tool which has left me stumped for months. I admit Anime Studio is more efficient than Toonboom in some areas but Toonboom is more suited for the traditional animator in my opinion.
I own both. I can …
I own both. I can have a cartoon up and running as fast as I can draw in anime pro. To me the time line in toonboom is rediculous, and everything you do in toonboom seems to require extra steps for no apparent reason.
