2D/3D Medical Animation: TBI - Traumatic Brain Injury Part 2
Traumatic Brain Injury - TBI
In correlation with some of the nation’s leading medical experts and trial attorneys who specialize in “mild traumatic brain injury (mild TBI)”, MediVisuals has developed an interactive animated software that demonstrates how traumatic brain injuries can occur without a significant blow to the head and without being evidenced on imaging studies.
Animated sequences based upon crash tests demonstrate the movements ociated with a “typical” sudden deceleration incident. Multiple other animation sequences explain the involved anatomy and show the soft, fragile brain impacting on the hard and uneven inner surface of the skull. The sequences demonstrate how multiple axonal injuries can occur from the shearing forces (both with and without hemorrhage and both with and without positive findings on imaging studies). An additional animation sequence demonstrates how the combined deceleration and rotational forces result in axonal injury in the corpus callosum.

I recieved a …
I recieved a penetrating head wound in Vietnam in 1968.The left parietal lobe and occipital lobes were amputated. I could read but I could not write print or spell.I could add but I could not subtract. The amnesia was very difficult to live with. I did not know my left hand from my right.I could not remember the love of my mother.I was a grown adult man with the thought process of a 5 year old. The govnt gave me no rehab. I had to relearn everything. Geographic aphasia veery difficult.
I fell 140 feet …
I fell 140 feet rock-climbing. I was attending University of California Santa Cruz and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry March 21, 1989. I have stuff online too. Email me for the lkinks.:
TBI students are guaranteed a mediocre education - everywhere. I needed writing help - which was never offered. The loneliness of Friday nights, grinding away on homework that other students breeze through can not be described. Other students had social lives and I watched mine dwindle.

Ditto for me. Life …
Ditto for me. Life with a brain injury is a constant challenge, especially when you don’t have a “support group” of any kind and your friends don’t think there’s anything wrong with you because you “look fine” to them. I have watched this video a bunch of times, still don’t understand it all and can’t remember what I learned from it until I watch it again, lol, but it’s very informative. I think.

Added this very helpful video to my Brain Injury Channel.
An excellent video. …
An excellent video. I am a TBI survivor of 2 yrs. I didn’t know this kind of info was available after my accident and trying to read a book required memory that at the time I just didn’t have. I started making a documentary “RECLAIMING YOUR LIFE AFTER A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY” (Part 1 on YouTube) It has definitely been the most challenging experience of my life time, dealing with the frustration, depression, memory and the adjustment to learning a new way to live.
Great technical …
Great technical video that may be life saving. Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) may occur accidentally or in war or boxing. Your video teaches us the limitations inherently present in CT or MRI imaging. A favorite video. Thanks.

That’s right. Organic computer. Except, your RAM (short term memory), Gigabytes (long term memory), and Gigahertz (processing speed) are all different for everyone.

So the Brain is like a Super Computer, Computers linked to be one. Wonder how much RAM, Gigabytes & Gigahertz the brain has. Eww, Organic Computer.

I’ve had five TBI’s …
I’ve had five TBI’s (first by fall off table onto concrete knocking me out for three minutes, three by ault with clubs leading to unconsciousness for ten minutes and last by steel ship’s hatch dropped on my head by careless person) and don’t wish one on anybody. I would rather have both arms and legs amputated than another head injury. People don’t understand. I cannot express what it feels like verbally, other than flat, burning, anger, awkward, alone, tired, overwhelmed and frustrated.
This video (and #1) …
This video (and #1) does well to describe the physical cause and effect of TBI. Sadly I have yet to find any that cover the psychological and social aspects. I have had several, and if anyone had any idea how society reacts. Under normal or other-than TBI impairments the same treatment, psychological and social, is generally considered cruel and inhumane. But it’s ok to do it to someone with a TBI?
